Profile photoEuiyoung Kim is a post-doc. design scholar/fellow in the department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, majoring New Product Development and Design Theory and Methods. He is a member of the BID (Berkeley Design Institute) and BEST Lab.

He was granted a Master’s degree from EDI (Engineering Design Innovation) program at Northwestern University in 2011.

Prior to moving to the United States, he worked as a product planning manager in Strategic Marketing Team for IT Solutions Business, Samsung Electronics from 2006 to 2010.
His research interest involves Design For Longevity, Human Centric Research and Multi-disciplinary Study that bring different academic fields together such as marketing, design and engineering through design thinking and innovation process. His thesis topic is on Design Roadmap as a means to drive Technology-Product Roadmaps Integration.

He is a recipient of Best Paper Awards in ICED (International Conference on Engineering Design) for two consecutive years (2013 and 2015) and a fellow of 2015 Summer Institute for Preparing Future Faculty, UC Berkeley.

Euiyoung has been working on several research projects; such as 1) Integrated design roadmapping, 2) Internet of Things user experience, 3) Next digital experience, 4) and NPD (New product development) process. He is now working in SRA (Samsung Research America), San Francisco, California as a Business Consultant in design roadmapping, future product planning, and portfolio management.
